This New Year’s Eve is bittersweet. Two years ago, on December 24, 2015, we were so excited when Jaci started her period. It was our first “CD1” (Cycle Day 1), and the start of our fertility journey.
Over the last two years, we’ve been through IUI after IUI, multiple tests and procedures, three failed rounds of IVF, and a roller coaster of emotions. We’ve been hopeful, then crushed. We’ve peed on more sticks than we can count. We finally saw two pink lines, and 6 days later, only one. In 2017, we got the closest we’ve ever been, and that gives us some hope to hold on to.
When we started this journey, we had no idea how many CD1s we would have, or how much we would grow to hate them. So, as we say goodbye to 2017, we’re hopeful that 2018 holds our greatest dream: the pregnancy that has been two years in the making.
Happy New Year!
